Thematic route: In the footsteps of the Chamois

A superb easy and fun mountain walk where you will discover, through panels and games, the life of the Mont de Grange chamois.

Starting from the Plan des Feux, this hike goes towards the chalets of Pertuis, in the Mont de Grange hunting reserve which has hundreds of chamois and mouflons, but also marmots. It allows you to learn about the alpine fauna thanks to 9 fun and educational panels.

In the Abondance valley, you will find 3 types of markings:
• local markup on wooden panel,
• the departmental markings called P.D.I.P.R.
(Departmental Plan of Promenade Routes
and Hiking) on ​​beige metal panel and green writing,
• the FFRP markup (French Federation of Hiking),
red and white mark for GR® (Grande Randonnée),
red and yellow mark for RP® (Randonnée de Pays).

Along this path, you will find 9 fun and educational panels concerning the life of the Chamois in the Mont de Grange hunting reserve.

0/ Departure from the Plan des Feux parking lot.
1/ Take the direction " Plaine Joux " and " Chalets de Pertuis ".
2/ Follow the itinerary by following the signs "Sur les traces du Chamois".
3/ On the path, take on your left the path that goes up in the direction of " Chalets de Pertuis ".
The itinerary is an out-and-back on the same path.
