One of the trails in the Boucles du Coteau de Publier: a pleasant and varied walk that takes you to the town center on the lakefront.
The trail runs mainly through shaded woodland, and you’ll follow the red triangle of the municipal trail markers throughout the entire route.
Starting point: Parking lot at the Belvédère and the Farquenoud Spring in Publier.
You can also start from the church and the town center of Publier (parking with a parking disc) or get off at the Publier Église bus stop.
From the starting point at the Farquenoud Belvedere, you’ll find the Souriane Spring, where Evian’s natural mineral water flows, offering a lovely view of Lake Geneva. Head back up toward the town center, passing through fields and vegetable gardens. You can make your first stop at the Publier Church.
The trail then descends through the woods; you’ll cross the Nant stream via the charming “Sur le Nant” bridge, continuing down a wide path until you reach the railroad tracks, which you’ll need to cross.
Reach the lakeshore via Maxima Park, with its iron-rich spring and century-old trees. A break by the lake is recommended.
At the boat dock, head toward the old village, pass through the Abbé Chipier passage—a small tunnel under the railroad tracks—and then climb back up to the hamlet of Crochet.
Walk along the Crochet orchard to follow the path through the woods that runs alongside the tracks. Pass through a stretch between woods and fields with a flock of sheep in the Châtaigneraie.
Crochet: a short round-trip detour is possible to the Saint-Étienne Chapel on the Blonay estate. (Pass between the soccer fields.)
Return via the higher path, passing fields, greenhouses, and several remarkable trees before reaching the Buvette de Farquenoud lookout point.
Signage in the town of Publier uses colored triangles: red for the Chemin des Rosaires.
