Description

The small hamlet "the Mont" is situated in the uplands of Abondance. It is composed of traditionnal farms around a chapel. The architecture and the place are typical of the local habitat of the Vallée d'Abondance

Departing from the center of Abondance village, the hike takes you to the hamlet of Le Mont, where you'll discover traditional Abondance houses and the Chapelle Saint Didier. This hamlet on the heights of the village offers views of the Abondance valley, Mont de Grange and Mont Chauffé.

You'll pass a farm selling the famous Abondance cheese.

You then join a forest track. From here, you'll descend to the heights of Richebourg and then climb back up to the mountain pastures of the hamlet of Mont.
