Laurent Baffie has written a play centered on a theme that affects us all to a greater or lesser extent: quirks.

Each character has a condition severe enough to warrant a visit to the doctor. The wait to see the medical specialist turns into a group session punctuated by jokes and scenes where compulsive behaviors take on a surprising dimension.

Dr. Stern, a world-renowned expert, is one of the leading specialists in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); he rarely sees patients in France. Six patients chatting in his waiting room have had to wait many months to secure this coveted appointment.

Time is ticking away, but the eminent neuropsychiatrist still hasn’t arrived, apparently stranded in Frankfurt due to the vagaries of air travel. The patients then decide to stave off boredom by trying to get to know each other better and eventually open up one by one, engaging in a sort of rehearsal.

Coprolalia, Tourette’s syndrome, arithmomania, nosophobia, checking OCD, inability to walk in a straight line… OCDs pile up, jostle for space, and intermingle in the office of this perpetually absent doctor! But what the hell is he doing?
