Theater Festival Program

LOUISE AND LOUIS
By Gérard Levoyer — Cie Fauteuils et Strapontins
Ages 12 and up

Louise and Louis have been divorced for about twenty years. When they separated, their daughter Amélie chose to live with her father, which created additional tension. Today, Amélie is married with a child and remains on good terms with both her parents, even though her bond with her father is the strongest. But Louis is in bad shape—very bad shape—and before he dies, he makes a revelation to his daughter—a secret to which Louise holds the key. Some secrets are harder to reveal than others.

Saturday, the 3rd — 6:00 p.m.

IF YOU BUY ME A DRINK
By Gérard Levoyer — Cie Fauteuils et Strapontins
Ages 12 and up

At Alphonse’s bistro, there aren’t many customers—just a few regulars: Jojo, a whimsical poet who lugs around timeless works that no one has read; Mado, pretty as a picture, with a beautiful voice but whose heart is won only by those who pay the price; and a background pianist whose name everyone has forgotten and who drinks nothing but water. In this corner of the bistro, there are wonderful adventures to be found within these extraordinary souls. All you have to do is push open the door to set off on a journey with them.

Saturday, the 3rd—8:30 p.m.

A WEEK… NO MORE
By Clément Michel — La Divine Comédie Theater Company
For all ages

Paul leads Sophie to believe that his best friend Martin, who has just lost his mother, is going to move in with them for a while. In reality, he wants to break up with her and thinks this living arrangement will cause their relationship to fall apart… Martin, caught in a trap, agrees. But it will be “one week… no more!” Thus begins a totally explosive living arrangement—a veritable game of musical chairs—complete with its share of lies, dirty tricks, and other everyday pleasures.

Sunday, the 4th — 6:00 p.m.

COUPLES’ SCREAMS
By Gérard Levoyer — Cie Emergence
Ages 12 and up

Cris de couples is a play set in a zany world where dark humor blends with unexpected tenderness. Composed of eight short scenes, each a vivid snapshot of the daily challenges couples face, oscillating between hilarious arguments and touching reconciliations. With insight, the author portrays characters who are both grotesque and deeply human—played by five actors—in whom everyone will recognize fragments of their own experience. Beyond the shouting and tears, this comedy offers a sincere and entertaining reflection on the complex and often absurd art of living as a couple.

Friday, the 9th — 8:30 p.m.

LET’S EAT!
Léman Improvisation Collective
For all ages

Around a family table, a dinner begins like so many others: everyone takes their seats, catches up, exchanges pleasantries, little jabs, memories, and unspoken truths. But this meal won’t be quite ordinary. Before the show begins, the audience assigns the actors their family relationships, certain character traits, and an important announcement that one of the characters must reveal during dinner…

Saturday, the 10th — 8:30 p.m.

FAUSSE NOTE
By Didier Caron — Cie Nouvel Acte
Ages 12 and up

In the dressing room of an internationally renowned conductor. At the end of one of his concerts, the maestro is repeatedly pestered by a somewhat intrusive admirer. The longer the interview goes on, the stranger and more oppressive this visitor’s behavior becomes. Who is he really? What is the real reason for his visit?
