La Belle Dimanche: the mountain pastures festival (48th edition)

The Belle Dimanche is one of the oldest traditionnal Savoyard festival.
It honours the shepherds and their animals, but also traditional craftsmanship, to the delight of all.

The festival at Plaine Dranse begins with the arrival of the herds. This is followed by an open-air mass, with the traditional blessing of the flocks and shepherds.

Throughout the day, you'll be able to wander among the many stalls where artisans of all kinds display their creations: paintings and woodcarvings, bell founders, natural and artisanal products, decorative objects, pottery, jewelry....

Châtel's various associations will be offering games and entertainment.

There are also several refreshment stands where you can eat and drink...

A musical ambience is provided by several music groups performing at different points of the festival throughout the day: folk groups, alphorns, brass bands and, all the way from Canada, the Tremblant Choir.

A souvenir store featuring the festival awaits you at the Welcome - Information point.

Access to the festival is by foot, shuttle bus or Pierre Longue chairlift. Cars are absolutely forbidden.

Throughout the day, free shuttle buses will take you to the festival:

Line 1 – Serving the car parks at Linga – Centre – Vonnes – Pré la Joux :
• First departure from Linga at 8.00 am
• Runs every 20 minutes
• Last return journey from Pré la Joux at 7.00 pm

Pré la Joux–Plaine Dranse line:
• First departure from Pré la Joux: 8.30 am
• Runs every 15 minutes
• Last return journey from Plaine Dranse at 6.45 pm
