From Fruit to Candy: Learning While Having Fun!
What if fruit became today’s candy?

During this fun and delicious workshop, children will learn about the differences between natural sugars and added sugars, taste samples, get creative, and go home with their very own “fruity candies.”
A joyful experience where they’ll learn how to treat themselves… while taking care of their health!

Young and old alike will discover how to make delicious treats themselves while learning a few tips about nutrition and the joy of cooking together.

Objectives:

  • Offer a fun and delicious activity centered on home cooking
  • Raise families’ awareness about sugar consumption and ultra-processed foods
  • Introduce healthy and fun alternatives to store-bought candy
  • Create a bonding, participatory experience between parents and children

Program Flow:

  • Short introduction to candy and sugar
  • Making the candy using a quick-cooking method
  • Pouring the mixture into molds, a lighthearted discussion about sugar, and a fun game about hidden sugars in foods
  • Tasting (using pre-prepared samples), distribution of the practical guide
