Adult alpine ski lessons

The French Ski School of La Chapelle d'Abondance offers group or private lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced.

Group courses run from Sunday to Friday, with an end-of-course test on Friday. The different levels of adult group classes: Beginner : If you've never skied before, or have tried it 1 or 2 times on your own, and would like to discover skiing and the mountain environment, join our ski group. I'm getting to know the equipment and the snow. I use my first ski lifts. I control my speed and make snowplough turns. I use different types of movement to work on my balance. Class 1: If you've been skiing for 1 to 2 weeks and would like to gain confidence and control over your speed and trajectories, join our Class 1 group. I link basic turns (converging skis with a skidded finish on parallel skis). I start to skid. Class 2: If you've been skiing for 3 to 4 weeks and would like to develop your skiing skills on different types of terrain and snow, join our class 2 group. I can descend basic parallel turns. I can do a basic scull and control my skids. Class 3: If you'd like to continue perfecting your technique, enjoy all-snow skiing on all types of terrain, take part in a slalom session or discover the Portes du Soleil ski area, we can arrange a private lesson or commitment. Technical skiing, performance skiing, off-piste skiing.
